Born in 1924,  lived and worked as a potter in Blaricum The Netherlands.
His uncle, the renowned potter Frans Slot from Epe (Gelderland), just showed him a few basic things. Right from the start he found his own way, both technically and artistically.
He turned and formed his mostly classic shapes in clay. Developing and putting together his own glazes, firing the products in either an electrical or natural gas heated kiln. He focussed on crystal glazes, but also appreciated luster-, woodash- and reduction glazes.
Alex van de Wal passed away on August 2 2016.
